Project Finch
About the project
The outcome of project Finch was a gastrointestinal monitoring solution that aimed to provide medical professionals with better data for diagnosis purposes. My role in the project was to deliver UX/UI outcomes to improve the dashboard experience for these users. Visualising and guiding the user through the data was a key challenge for this project.

Data visualisations and interactions
Balancing guidance and avoiding bias
A unique challenge to this project was meeting regulatory requirements that put restrictions on how much guidance (i.e. assistance) the application could provide the user to reach a diagnosis. This meant that our team had to always consider bias and leading content, to ensure that; while the user experience was seamless and useful, it wasn't providing or leading a user to a diagnosis.
Prototyping (micro) interactions
In addition to macro interactions to communicate the overall user journey through the application, I worked with the development team and Product Owner to refine micro interactions intending to add an additional level of user satisfaction as they gained more experience using the product. Intuitive or subtle features that aided in zooming, panning and general way-finding of the data were prototyped using ProtoPie to communicate to the client and development team.
